science writing

Red-eyed tree frog on leaf, Alajuela, Costa Rica
Scenic writing in the San Jacinto Mountains. PC: My lovely best friend Olivia O'Hara https://www.oliviaohara.com

One of the exciting parts about being a scientist is sharing my work with others, and using my skills to explain scientific concepts. Below is a short selection of some of my writing that I have done, either about my experience as a scientist, or about different scientific topics.

Wildlife Conservation
  • My Rhinoceros Teacher. Cornell K. Lisa Yang Center for Wildlife Health "Blogs from the Field". July 2025.
Science & Society
  • What my asexuality and impostor syndrome are teaching me about belonging. Sister STEM. March 2021.
Science Translation
  • Cellar spiders use chemical cues to identify each other’s webs. Massive Science. January 2021.
  • Pug-nosed tree frogs have figured out how to stay safe while attracting mates. Massive Science. January 2021.
